Emapthy in lyrics #9

Stumbled across Adelaide artist Michael Law today and his song Terrified. I’m not a massive fan of the song particularly – it’s OK – but that’s not what the Empathy series is about, as anyone following it might have realised by now. It’s about the lyrics, and this video is beautifully shot, too.

Terrified – Michael Law
Something calls out to me
All we long for is there to breathe
But all the uncertainty
Let your thoughts sink into me

The rain pours down on me
The rain pours down on me
Am I terrified of new beginnings?
Am I terrified of truly living?

I keep living in my shell
When I know it will be my hell
But all the uncertainty
Will soon be overwhelming me

The rain pours down on me
The rain pours down on me
Am I terrified of new beginnings?
Am I terrified of truly living?

I feel in awe
We do as told

The rain pours down on me
The rain pours down on me
Am I terrified of new beginnings?
Am I terrified of truly living?
